US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has called on Europe to “wake up” and restore the continent’s former strength.
Miraz.TV reports that Rubio said they believe Europe will rekindle the “flame” that was lit here millennia ago.
The beginning of a generational change
“We hope this will be the beginning of a generational change. We already see the first signs of it across the whole continent,” he noted.
Disagreements between Washington and Europe
Rubio also stressed that disagreements and emotions between Washington and Europe have at times created tension in the relationship. According to him, these factors must not be allowed to destroy the ties between the US and Europe.
