Melania Trump Promotes AI Education in Schools
Former First Lady Melania Trump has issued a call to action for students, urging them to embrace artificial intelligence and use it to develop new robotics projects.
On September 15, Mrs. Trump visited an elementary school in northwestern North Carolina. She spoke with students, teachers, and staff about their current use of technology and AI in the classroom, emphasizing that the United States must lead in the field of artificial intelligence.
Expanding Access to Technology
During the visit, the former First Lady donated 100 small computers to the school. This initiative ensures that 1,500 students have access to AI resources at their school.
Mrs. Trump expressed her hope that students would use these devices to spend more time engaging with artificial intelligence. She also encouraged the students to bring the robots they build with the help of AI to the White House for her to see.
Addressing Safety and the Future
When asked by journalists about the potential dangers of artificial intelligence, the First Lady responded that while students should benefit from AI, “of course, safety precautions should not be forgotten.”
She believes that students who do not engage with AI may fall behind their peers who are already utilizing these tools.
