A twin-engine Learjet 60 carrying nine people crashed near homes in Palm Beach County, Florida, shortly before 1 p.m. on Sunday, November 1, 2026.
The 22-year-old aircraft had departed Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Texas and was en route to North Eleuthera in the Bahamas, the Federal Aviation Administration said. Public records indicate the plane belonged to a private company and had previously been offered as a rental.
Whether anyone on the ground suffered injuries was not immediately clear, and the cause of the plunge remains under inquiry.
Emergency Response and Investigation
The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office blocked all traffic in both directions along Military Trail between Cresthaven Boulevard and 10th Avenue North until further notice.
The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board have launched a joint inquiry into the cause of the crash.
