The positive aspect is that contacts between the two countries have increased in recent days.
For instance, such a contact took place recently. US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff stated on September 22 in New York that the consultations held with Iranian representatives within the framework of the UN General Assembly were successful.

“We participated in long-term negotiations with the Iranian delegation within the framework of the UN General Assembly, aided by intermediaries working throughout the day,” he noted.
According to the US President’s special envoy, the negotiation phase concluded successfully. Witkoff expressed hope that future relations would be constructive and promising, and emphasized that the intermediaries will continue their work.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump stated that preconditions exist to reach an agreement to end the conflict with Iran. He also stated that Witkoff and his son-in-law Jared Kushner had a very productive meeting with Iranian intermediaries and that a large number of good ideas were presented at the meeting.
