A transformative consolidation in Hollywood’s media landscape is officially complete. Skydance’s acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery has brought two media powerhouses together, creating one of the most extensive film and television content portfolios in the global entertainment industry.

According to CHIP, citing official statements from Skydance, the $110 billion merger was finalized following nearly a year of negotiations, regulatory scrutiny, and procedural approvals. The combined enterprise is projected to generate approximately $70 billion in annual revenue.

Consolidated Platforms and Entertainment Franchises

Under the unified corporate structure, major television and streaming platforms—including CBS, CNN, MTV, Comedy Central, HBO Max, and Paramount Plus—will now operate under the same umbrella. The company plans to release approximately 30 feature films and over 180 television projects per year.

The combined content library encompasses major global intellectual properties such as DC, Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, Mission: Impossible, The Lord of the Rings, Star Trek, Looney Tunes, and SpongeBob SquarePants. Key broadcast and cable networks, including TNT, Adult Swim, Cartoon Network, and Nickelodeon, are also part of the new entity.

Financial Structure and Market Listing

David Ellison, CEO of Skydance, described the merger as a historic milestone for both the company and the broader entertainment sector. He stated that the goal is to unite two storied studios to build a robust competitor capable of scaling production across diverse genres and distribution channels.

Following the completion of the transaction, the combined company will trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol SKYD, while Warner Bros. Discovery shares will be delisted from NASDAQ. The newly formed entity will carry an estimated debt load of roughly $80 billion.

This landmark transaction follows Skydance’s $8 billion acquisition of Paramount last year, consolidating a substantial portion of Hollywood’s premier film, television, and streaming brands into a single corporate ecosystem.
