Key members of US President Donald Trump’s administration held a secret meeting at the Camp David presidential retreat to discuss future strategy and potential steps regarding Iran.

According to Axios, citing three US officials, the last time a meeting of this nature took place was in June 2025—just days before an Israeli attack on Iran.

High-Level Officials in Attendance

The high-level session was led by Vice President JD Vance. Attendees included Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, Special Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Caine.

Discussions on Iran and Yemen

President Trump previously indicated in an interview with Time magazine that the resumption of strikes against Iran following the US midterm elections remains a possibility.

Reports also note that the White House has been urged to join a Saudi Arabian military offensive against Houthi rebels in Yemen. While Saudi officials have pressed Trump to authorize airstrikes against the rebels, the president has so far leaned toward declining the request.
