President Donald Trump is in “excellent overall health” following a scheduled evaluation on Friday at Walter Reed, according to his physician. The assessment addressed the 79-year-old president’s overall Donald Trump health.
Navy Capt. Sean P. Barbabella stated, “President Donald J. Trump successfully completed a scheduled follow-up evaluation at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.”
The visit was part of a health maintenance plan that included “advanced imaging, laboratory testing and preventative health assessments.”
This was Trump’s second routine medical checkup this year, following a similar exam in April.
Details of the Trump Walter Reed Checkup
The presidential medical evaluation was described as a “routine” semiannual physical. A multidisciplinary team of specialists conducted the assessments at the facility in Bethesda, Maryland.
His physician noted Trump “remains in exceptional health, exhibiting strong cardiovascular, pulmonary, neurological, and physical performance.” The report affirmed the president “continues to maintain a demanding daily schedule without restriction.“
Exceptional Lab and Trump Cardiac Age Results
Comprehensive laboratory studies were also completed. Barbabella described the results as “exceptional, including stable metabolic, hematologic and cardiac parameters.“
One specific finding highlighted his cardiac age, which was found to be “approximately 14 years younger than his chronological age.” Following a similar exam in April, Trump’s physician also stated he “remains in excellent health.“
Addressing Donald Trump Health Concerns
In July, the president was diagnosed with Donald Trump chronic venous insufficiency, a condition where veins in the legs struggle to allow blood to flow back to the heart. At the time, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Trump had noticed “mild swelling” in his lower legs.
Leavitt also previously attributed bruising on the president’s hand to “frequent handshaking and the use of aspirin.“
Presidential Medical Evaluation and Next Steps
This evaluation is part of the president’s ongoing health maintenance plan. During the visit, he received updated COVID-19 and flu shots in preparation for international travel.
While at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, the president also met with troops. Capt.
Barbabella concluded that “President Trump continues to demonstrate excellent overall health.“
