The US Congress has passed the strictest sanctions against Russia. President Donald Trump is expected to sign the bill into law in the coming days.

The legislation also mandates direct sanctions against the Russian President, Prime Minister, and the Central Bank. Furthermore, the new law confirms that sanctions will be applied to countries that import large volumes of oil from Russia.
China and India are at the forefront of the countries to be sanctioned. President Donald Trump will determine the scope of the sanctions to be applied to these nations.
Mike Johnson: Sanctions Target Putin Directly
There is high confidence that the new law will be approved by the President. House Speaker Mike Johnson stated that these sanctions are intended to put direct pressure on Putin:
“Perhaps after this, Russia will stop the war against Ukraine. We must take into account that he has been directly organizing the aggression against Ukraine for many years. Unfortunately, countries that buy cheap oil from Russia are turning a blind eye to this aggression.
Therefore, our Administration is taking all necessary steps to stop Russia’s aggression.”
