Study Details and Findings
The study included 250 mother-infant pairs. When the infants were approximately 7.5 months old, their eye movements were tracked using special technology.
It was revealed that infants of mothers who were more exposed to certain chemicals adapted to images more slowly. Scientists state that this may indicate differences related to visual attention at an early age.
The study drew attention to sources such as plastics, paints, rubber products, certain pesticides, cigarettes, and diesel exhaust.
However, researchers emphasize that the results do not yet prove a direct cause-and-effect relationship and that further research in this direction is needed.
