One of the most anticipated events during the gathering was the meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and US President Donald Trump, which has now taken place. Global issues were discussed during the meeting held at the White House.
Following the meeting, an interesting moment occurred when the Chinese leader announced that his country would hand over two pandas to the United States.
Pandas as Symbols of Friendship
“The giant panda serves as a symbol of friendship between the Chinese and American peoples. I have good news for you: just a few days from now, two pandas—Ping Ping and Fu Xuan—will arrive at their new home in the Atlanta Zoo to meet the American people,” the Chinese President stated.
During the meeting, Xi Jinping also emphasized that China and the US must maintain dialogue, improve crisis communication mechanisms, and avoid confrontation.
