U.S. President Donald Trump has called on Ukraine to reach an agreement to end the conflict, stating that Europe is growing weary of the ongoing war. Speaking at the White House, Trump urged swift steps toward a diplomatic settlement.
White House Remarks and Warning to Kyiv
According to the U.S. leader, Washington and Europe have provided substantial assistance to Ukraine, but the outcome has been “grief, death, and incredible financial losses.”
Trump stated he is convinced Russia wants to conclude the conflict and emphasized that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy should adopt a similar stance by working toward a negotiated resolution.
“If he doesn’t, I think the situation is going to be very bad,” the U.S. President said.
Trump also remarked that a direct meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Zelenskyy is not strictly necessary for the conflict to come to an end.
