Hamas has drafted a letter to Donald Trump proposing a Trump Hamas hostage deal that would exchange half the hostages in Gaza for a 60-day ceasefire guaranteed by the former president.
Hamas Proposes Ceasefire for Hostage Release
The letter, expected to be delivered to Trump this week, outlines the proposal from Hamas. It requests Trump’s guarantee for a 60-day ceasefire as part of the ongoing Gaza ceasefire negotiations.
In exchange, Hamas would immediately release half of the hostages taken captive during the Oct. 7, 2023, attack on Israel. The proposal directly engages the former American commander in chief, who has sought to be a peacemaker on the global stage.
A Potential Trump Hamas Hostage Deal
Donald Trump has repeatedly called for the immediate release of all hostages. While visiting England last week, he noted his desire to see the captives freed “now — right now.“
On his Truth Social platform, Trump issued what he described as his “last warning” to Hamas earlier this month. In a Sept. 7 post, he claimed the Israelis had accepted his terms for a potential deal.
“It is time for Hamas to accept as well,” Trump stated. “I have warned Hamas about the consequences of not accepting. This is my last warning, there will not be another one!“
Trump Issues Warnings on Truth Social
Earlier this year, Trump posted a similar “last warning” on March 5. He demanded Hamas release all hostages and return the bodies of those who were murdered.
“Release all of the Hostages now, not later… or it is OVER for you,” Trump wrote. He added, “I am sending Israel everything it needs to finish the job.“
Trump also mentioned meeting with former hostages whose “lives you have destroyed.” He warned there would be “HELL TO PAY LATER” if his demands were not met, applying pressure to the developing Trump Israel hostage deal.
