Erdoğan and Trump to Meet in New York

The 81st UN General Assembly is set to begin next week, drawing heads of state to New York. Among the attendees is Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

During the assembly, President Erdoğan is expected to hold a series of bilateral meetings. Notably, the US Ambassador to Ankara, Tom Barrack, has announced that President Erdoğan and US President Donald Trump will meet in New York.

Meeting Agenda and Details Pending

The exact date and agenda for the meeting have not yet been disclosed.

The two leaders last met on July 7, 2026, during the NATO Leaders Summit in Ankara. During that visit, the parties discussed global issues, including the F-35 program, CAATSA sanctions, defense industry cooperation, the Russia-Ukraine war, and the crisis in Syria.
