Three separate shootings across Dallas's Deep Ellum entertainment district left four people dead and 15 others injured during Halloween celebrations overnight on Nov. 1, 2026.
The gunfire occurred over a span of about one hour and 15 minutes, unfolding between midnight and 1:30 a.m. Sunday. Fatalities were reported across two distinct locations, while at least six people sustained injuries at a third site. No police officers were injured in the incidents.
Investigation and Response
The Dallas Police Department had reinforced its patrol presence in the district ahead of the holiday crowds. Following the gunfire, an officer administered trauma care at the scene and revived one victim. Investigators have detained and questioned people in custody, though authorities have not released specific counts or formal charges.
"This is a really big scene. It’s spread out. We are interviewing some individuals right now that we have arrested, still trying to figure out exactly how it ties into," Dallas Police Chief Daniel Comeaux said. Investigators have not established whether the three scenes are linked, and motives remain undetermined. "At this time, we have no information that they are related, but we're still doing an investigation to try to figure that out at this time," Comeaux said.
Police authorities asked visitors who were in Deep Ellum during the shootings to submit photos and video footage to assist the investigation. The identities of the victims and the suspects have not yet been released.
