X Square Robot has unveiled its Quanta X2 robotic butler and released the open-source X Square Robot Wall-OSS model, aiming to advance robots for unpredictable, real-world tasks with new funding.

Introducing the Quanta X2 Robotic Butler

The company introduced Quanta X2, an advanced robotic butler designed for dexterity and versatility in environments like homes, hotels, and offices. The robot stands about 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighs around 210 pounds, and possesses 62 degrees of freedom.

Its seven-degree-of-freedom robotic arm has a 30-inch reach and a payload capacity of about 13 pounds. The system is capable of fine precision down to 0.001 inches, allowing it to handle complex cleaning and serving tasks.

The X Square Robot Wall-OSS AI Model

Powering the new hardware is the Wall-OSS embodied AI model, an artificial intelligence system trained on vision-language-action data. This design helps robots “think” and act more like humans when faced with novel situations.

The model solves key challenges like catastrophic forgetting and syncs vision, language, and action across multiple robot types.

Major X Square Robot Funding and Strategy

This technological push is supported by a significant financial boost. The company recently secured around $100 million in Series A+ backing to fuel its development and expansion.

Key investors in the funding round included Alibaba Cloud, HongShan, INCE Capital, and Meituan. Legend Star and Legend Capital also participated in the investment.

Pushing Open-Source AI for Robotics

In a strategic move, X Square Robot is making its Wall-OSS model available to developers through an open-source license. The company is inviting the global developer community to help build the next generation of robotics.

The model will be accessible on platforms like GitHub and Hugging Face. This will enable developers to build new datasets and accelerate the adoption of embodied AI technology.

Future of Adaptive Robotic Assistants

X Square Robot is laying the groundwork for robots that can adapt to user needs rather than just performing a single, pre-programmed task. The company believes open-source collaboration could make robotic assistants as commonplace as smartphones.
