It pulls from decades of flight records stored in the Integrated Medical Evidence Database (iMED) and runs Monte Carlo simulations to model thousands of potential mission paths. This allows planners to evaluate over 100 medical conditions, including radiation sickness and routine infections, for missions that lack historical precedents.
