Young Adults Rely More on AI for Financial Planning

A Statista survey indicates that young Americans, led by Gen Z and Millennials, show higher willingness to trust AI with financial and investment decisions.

In the United States, 46% of surveyed adults aged 18 to 64 say they are open to using artificial intelligence tools for budgeting, investing, and general money management. Interest is particularly pronounced among younger demographics, who increasingly turn to AI for financial planning.

Men and Younger Generations Lead in Adoption

According to a Statista study published in October 2026, American men are more willing than women to entrust financial planning to AI. Among surveyed men, 51% reported openness to using AI-driven personal finance tools, compared to 41% of women.

Generational divisions are even wider. More than half of Gen Z and Millennial respondents view using artificial intelligence for financial planning and investment decisions favorably. In contrast, openness stands at 35% among Generation X and drops to 21% among Baby Boomers.

Younger women also show notable interest in automated finance. In the US, 47% of Millennial women and 52% of Gen Z women said they would consider using AI tools for financial management. By comparison, 42% of Gen X men and only 25% of Baby Boomer men expressed the same willingness.

Global Patterns and Stagnant Sentiment

The research reveals that interest in AI-assisted financial management in the United Kingdom remains close to levels observed in the United States. Germany, however, trails both countries; only one-third of surveyed German respondents indicated interest in using AI for investment and financial planning.

Furthermore, consumer enthusiasm for AI-driven financial planning across the US, the UK, and Germany did not increase compared to the previous survey conducted in 2025. This suggests that despite the rapid proliferation of artificial intelligence tools, public willingness to delegate financial decisions to technology has remained largely flat.
