Aliyev Receives Irish Ambassador Credentials

President Ilham Aliyev received the Irish ambassador credentials from Clare Brosnan, the newly appointed representative to Azerbaijan, in Baku on July 17, 2026. During the meeting, the two discussed strengthening bilateral ties, with a focus on expanding cooperation beyond political spheres into areas such as investments, education, and high technologies to bolster the partnership between the two nations.

President Aliyev and Ambassador Brosnan explored opportunities to deepen bilateral cooperation, specifically targeting investments, education, and high technology sectors. The discussion emphasized moving beyond traditional political engagement to foster stronger economic ties. Additionally, the ambassador highlighted Ireland’s current Presidency of the Council of the European Union, expressing support for the development of relations between Azerbaijan and the EU, while also acknowledging progress in the peace agenda between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
