How does the new AI grief tool work?
The nonprofit Hold the Door has launched Doora, an AI grief tool providing 24/7 voice and text support for individuals navigating trauma. Developed by Rob Fazio, the platform is built upon 24 years of research into post-traumatic growth. It serves as a digital companion for those hesitant to seek traditional therapy, offering guidance to help users process loss while honoring their loved ones.
What inspired the creation of Doora?
The initiative honors Ronald Fazio Sr., who died in the 9/11 attacks after helping coworkers evacuate the World Trade Center. His son, Rob Fazio, founded Hold the Door to carry on his father's legacy of putting others first. By launching this AI grief tool on the 25th anniversary of the attacks, the organization aims to provide a bridge for people facing adversity, helping them find growth through their difficult experiences.
