No matter where in the world they live, Azerbaijani citizens always feel the care and attention of their state.
The multifaceted activities of our Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as the continuous work of our embassies and consulates, once again show that being close to our compatriots is considered one of the most important duties of our state.
They are not only diplomatic centers but also reliable addresses, support, and “homes of Azerbaijan” for thousands of our compatriots.
As a continuation of this mission, the Consulate General of Azerbaijan in Los Angeles regularly organizes mobile consular services for our citizens living in the western states of the United States. Thanks to these services, our compatriots can resolve document issues without difficulty far from their homeland and feel the support of their state at the closest possible address.
Interview – Aynura Shabiyeva:
Recently, I realized that my passport had expired and I needed to go to Los Angeles, the nearest consulate. I was a little worried since it was neither time-efficient nor budget-friendly.
However, I was informed that our consulate in Los Angeles would visit here to serve citizens. I immediately applied, registered, and collected my documents. The consul helped me very quickly.
This is a wonderful initiative. Many people would otherwise have had to travel with their families to Los Angeles, but thanks to this, they saved on expenses.
The next such meeting was held on August 23 in Los Gatos, California. At the event, hosted in the office of the Azerbaijani Cultural Society, passports were renewed, powers of attorney were issued, citizenship registrations and other important documentation were carried out directly upon citizens’ requests.
This initiative also provided great convenience for our citizens in terms of time and distance.
Interview – Rozi Alimammadova:
They came from far away for us, which is very good because before, sometimes we had to go there for my child. The road was long, time was short, and work made it difficult.
It is much more convenient that they came here—it is close to our home and work. We are very satisfied. I would also like to have services for driver’s licenses and ID cards.
The “Mobile Consul” project is not limited to paperwork. Such meetings also create an excellent opportunity to strengthen solidarity among compatriots and preserve our national identity and culture together.
Each meeting allows citizens to feel the breath of their homeland and connect more closely with one another.
Interview – Javid Alizade:
Our consulate’s activities cover 13 states of the U.S. Our main duty here is to provide consular services for Azerbaijani citizens and promote our country’s interests. We provide consular services such as passport renewals, issuing powers of attorney, and notarial services.
We travel to different cities and states where our citizens live and provide services on-site. Of course, we try to ensure quality service and that our community feels it. Citizens want new services related to ID cards; although we don’t have such services yet, we expect them to be introduced.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and its diplomatic missions continue to be reliable addresses for compatriots living all over the world.
The Consulate General in Los Angeles also plans to continue such events in different U.S. states in the future.
The goal is for every Azerbaijani—whether in Baku or across the ocean—to always feel the care and support of their state nearby.
